Description

Discover Zakopane’s winter magic far away from the ski lifts and crowds. Together with a local mountain guide you’ll hike on modern snowshoes across snowy meadows and forest paths, reaching viewpoints that are usually inaccessible in winter.

Your route leads from the area around Gubałówka / Butorowy Wierch towards a beautiful mountain clearing chosen by the guide depending on snow and weather conditions. There, your group gathers around a crackling bonfire for a warm highlander-style snack and hot drinks under the stars.

Snowshoeing is very intuitive – if you can walk, you can do it. No previous experience is required, only normal fitness and the will to play in the snow. The pace and route are adjusted to your group, so everyone can enjoy the views, take photos and soak in the atmosphere.

This trip works perfectly as:

  • An evening integration for corporate groups
  • A unique activity for stag / hen weekends
  • A fun and safe winter outing for groups of friends or families with older kids

Is this tour suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Snowshoeing is very easy to learn and your guide will show you how to use the equipment at the start. If you can walk on a normal path for around an hour, you will manage this tour.

How cold will it be and what should we wear?
Temperatures in Zakopane in winter can go from around 0°C down to –15°C. You’ll be moving during the walk and warming up by the bonfire, but proper winter clothing and waterproof boots are essential. Dress in layers, wear a hat and gloves and avoid jeans and sneakers.

Can this be organised as a private event for our company / group?
Yes. All snowshoe & bonfire adventures are organised as private tours. We can adjust the pace, difficulty and time at the bonfire to your group and add integration games, small competitions or surprises if you wish.

What happens if there is no snow?
If there is not enough snow for safe snowshoeing, the tour may be changed to a winter hike without snowshoes, moved to another date or converted to an alternative winter activity (for example quads or snowmobiles with bonfire), depending on availability. You will be informed of the options in advance.

Can we bring our own drinks to the bonfire?
Non-alcoholic drinks are usually fine. Alcoholic drinks at the bonfire must be agreed in advance and follow local regulations. For safety reasons, no one under the influence can participate in the hike.

Is transport included?
Yes, return transfers from Zakopane centre to the starting point and back are included. Hotel pick-up within Zakopane is available on request and may be subject to an extra fee depending on the location.
